Tirupati: The richest lord of the country has grown richer in the last one year alone. The temple administration has received close to 1,800kg of gold in form of offerings and donations made by the visiting devotees which have piled up at the TTD treasury.
The temple administration which already deposited close to 5,000kg of gold with various nationalised banks, has decided to deposit 1,800 kg of gold after converting them into gold bars. TTD EO M.G. Gopal said the temple administration would earn close to Rs 6 crore as interest from the bank on the 1,800kg of gold to be deposited.
