Judges Bill likely to be delayed
The earlier Bill moved by the UPA had lapsed with the dissolution of the 15th Lok Sabha
New Delhi: Union law and justice minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told the Rajya Sabha on Friday that a proposal to change the present system of investigating complaints of misbehaviour and incapacity against judges of the Supreme Court and HCs requires “further consideration”.
The Centre also indicated that a Bill in this regard may not come in the immediate future.
Referring to the Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill moved by the UPA government, Mr Prasad said the bill had lapsed with the dissolution of the 15th Lok Sabha.
