First metro services in March 2015

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail managing director N.V.S. Reddy said the first services of Metro Rail, between Nagole and Mettuguda, will start in March 2015 as a Ugadi present. “The trial runs on the stretch will start soon and we are importing four more coaches,” he added. Clarifying on the Central government’s intervention on the Metro project about changing alignment, Mr Reddy said that it was the state government that would have a say on the projects. So far the project has incurred an expenditure of Rs 4,600 crore and any change in the alignment would have to be borne by the state government, he said.
