Lucknow: An allegedly objectionable post on a social networking site led to stone pelting and arson in Bareilly district on Wednesday night.
It was found that two youths belonging to Meera ki Paith locality had allegedly posted some objectionable content on a social networking site Facebook , hurting religious sentiments, after which a written complaint was lodged at Baradari Police Station on July 28.
The ‘kanwariyas’ went on rampage in Ambedkar Nagar and fought a pitched battle with the police. According to reports, tension prevails in the old city area in Bareilly on Wednesday night and Thursday as people came out on the streets demanding immediate arrest of those who had posted an objectionable content on the site.
