Special package for AP will be worked out based on specific proposals from the state
Hyderabad: A special package for Andhra Pradesh will be worked out based on specific proposals from the state government, planning minister Inderjit Singh said.
Rajya Sabha member Mr J.D. Seelam had asked what steps were being taken to implement the provisions in the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 regarding special category status for AP.
In his reply, the Planning minister said, “AP Reorganisation Act, 2014 does not contain any provision regarding special category status for AP, creation of a special cell for Seemandhra under the chairmanship of the deputy chairman and Bundelkhand-type special development package for Rayalaseema and north coastal Andhra.”
He added, “The grant of special category status is under consideration.”
