Kochi: The district coordination committee of the bus workers in the city will start an indefinite strike in Edappally-Cheranallur route from today demanding a hike in wages.
The strike will impact 41 bus services operating in the route, said K.K. Kalesan chairman of the committee said.
District collector M.G. Rajamanickam in a statement said that the administration will provide the necessary help to owners to run the bus services in the event of the strike.
The strike cannot be justified, he said, and added that the licenses of drivers and conductors taking part in the strike will be suspended temporarily.
