Hyderabad: Five more defanged snakes were rescued from snake charmers from Bhoodan, Pochampally, Turkapalli, Chikkadmamidi and from Uppal. Animal rights experts say that, the number of snakes that have been rescued this year has reduced considerably over the past few years with snake charmers finding more hideouts and escape routes.
Snake Charmers subject the snakes to various types of cruelties. Catching snakes or causing injury to them is them is a legal offence which can lead to imprisonment under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972
