Panasonic launches quad-core Android for Rs 18,990
Panasonic has launched an Android smartphone in the Indian market, but does not seem to have it well-priced. Going by the hardware, we feel the handset is a bit pricey for the offering.
The Panasonic Eluga U features a 5-inch HD IPS OGS display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. The Eluga U is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with four processors buzzing 1.2GHz. 2GM of RAM has been provided along with 16GB of internal storage. The rear camera is a 16MP while the front camera is a 2MP. A 2500 mAh battery fuels the smartphone, which runs on the Android KitKat v4.4.
Lastly, the phone is 7.95mm thick and weighs 141 grams. The Eluga U is available for Rs 18,990 and two variants—black and white, with a textured glass back.
With new China brands trying to bring down the market with cheaper, yet powerful smartphones and a few major brands cutting prices to ensure they stay ahead, Panasonic seems to fall in between. For Rs 18,990, the features it offers are pretty average. We expected the Eluga U to be prices below t hers 15,000 range.
