Telangana sanctions Rs 8.76cr for two projects
Hyderabad: Bracing up to complete pending irrigation projects, the Telangana state government has sanctioned Rs 8.76 crore for survey and DPR (Detailed Project Report) for Palamur lift irrigation and Jurala-Pakala project on Wednesday.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who accorded sanctions for irrigation wor-ks, also discussed with officials of various departments about the proposed comprehensive socio-economic survey to be conducted across Telangana to ensure data of ev-ery individual for fool proof implementation of welfare sc-hemes and check misuse of funds. Mr Rao has convened a high-level meet on August 1 to fix the date for socio-economic survey. He also discussed the modalities for implementation of 1 lakh loan waiver scheme for farmers.
The government okayed Rs 5.73 crore for Palamur lift irrigation project and 3.03 crore for Pakala project for survey and DPR. Both the works will be completed in two months time.
The CM asked the irrigation department to submit a report on the two projects, which are being taken up on priority.
Mr Rao asked irrigation minister T. Harish Rao, irrigation adviser Vidyasagar and other officials to speed up these two projects.
