Man gains entry into Andhra Pradesh Assembly

He spent more than half an hour inside the Assembly building and roamed around the compound
Hyderabad: In what is being seen as a serious security breach, a 35-year-old “mentally un-sound” man gained entry into the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday morning by scaling the main gate and breaking a glass door.
Mr G. Ashok Reddy, a native of Pasara village of Warangal, spent more than half an hour inside the Assembly building and roamed around the compound for one-and-a-half hours before he was caught by security officials. Central Zone police, who arrested Mr Reddy, said that he had been suffering from mental illness for the last five years and had committed the act out of depression.
Meanwhile, the security provided by the Special Protection Force at the Assembly has come under criticism after the incident. Police officials said that Mr Reddy had come to the city five months ago with his family members and was living in Jubilee Hills.
On Wednesday, he scaled Gate No. 1 at around 7.15 am and entered the Assembly premises. “He went to the MLAs’ tea point and entered the Assembly building by opening the first door.
