Five cobras rescued before Nag Panchami in Hyderabad
Experts asked people not to feed milk or any eatables to the snakes
Hyderabad: More than five cobras and two monitor lizards were rescued by animal rights activists a day ahead of the Nag Panchami in Hyderabad.
Two snake charmers were sent to jail by the forest department for capturing snakes.
Volunteers from People For Animals, Blue Cross, Wildlife Crime Control Bureau and the forest department officials rescued the reptiles during individual raids across the city.
Experts asked people not to feed milk or any eatables to the snakes. Being reptiles, they cannot digest milk.
Moreover, sprinkling of turmeric on their forehead can rob them of their eyesight.
