Hyderabad: Another star son is now on the rise! Bellamkonda Sreenivas, son of producer Bellamkonda Suresh, made his debut with Alludu Seenu that was released few days back. Unexpected openings for this film have made Sreenivas the talk of the industry.
“I was pleasantly surprised to see the openings for my film. I never expected to pull in such large crowds. The amazing response is unbelievable,” says a happy Sreenivas.
The debutant gives due credit to the director V.V. Vinayak. “The way Vinayak uncle designed my character and the story is the reason the film has generated curiosity everywhere,” he says. He added that he worked hard for the last six years and was also trained well for this film. “I trained in different places over six years. First I went to Los Angeles and joined an acting course there. Then I went to Vietnam for learning action and here in Hyderabad I picked up martial arts. I also learnt a lot from Aruna Bikshu and stayed for a while in Mumbai to concentrate on my acting, ” says Sreenivas.
The actor feels lucky to have shared screen space with top actors like Prakash Raj, Samantha and Brahmanandam. “They made me feel comfortable on the sets. My scenes with Prakash Raj went smoothly and I found myself performing spontaneously around him. Also, director Vinayak garu explained the scenes beforehand and told me to act naturally,” says Sreenivas. “At my acting school too I was a good student and that helped me perform in my debut film as well,” he says.
Speaking about Samantha, he says, “She is a superstar but not once did she make me feel like a debutant, she always supported me and treated me as an equal. She gave a tremendous performance in this film,” says Sreenivas.
About Tamannah who appeared in a special song, he adds, “My first song was with her and when I took some extra time, she would tell me graciously ‘take your own time’. She is a very down-to-earth person.”
Sreenivas’s best friend in the industry is Akhil Akkineni. “He called me and gave me a positive feedback and I am very happy about it,” he says. He added that apart from all these factors, the story is important to get good revenues.
Asked about future plans, he says that he is currently enjoying his success and has not not thought about his next film. Acknowledging his father’s role in his success he says, “My father will take the final decision when it comes to selecting scripts for me. I have not signed my second film yet. I am enjoying the success of my first film,” says Sreenivas.
