Nifty falls for third session; L&T plunges
Nifty down by 0.12 per cent in early trade
Mumbai: The Nifty falls 0.12 per cent, heading for a third consecutive losing session. L&T slumps 6.8 per cent after April-June quarter earnings and comments that conditions in the domestic market are still sluggish. Hindustan Unilever Ltd falls 0.9 per cent on profit taking after a 3.5 per cent gain on Monday.
But Bharti Airtel gains 5.7 per cent to its highest in nearly two years after its earnings. Asian shares touched a six-and-half-year peak ahead of Fed meeting outcome and US GDP data.
