Hyderabad: To instill traffic sense and enforce discipline among the vehicle users, the traffic department has sent a proposal to the government to authorise traffic cops to arrest the unlicenced drivers and present them in front of the court.
“The objective behind proposing jail to drivers without licences is to bring down the number of cases. This is probably possible if a serious law is implemented,” said DCP S. Syam Sundar.
The rule of producing drunk drivers before the court has reduced drunken driving.
