Hyderabad: Justice A. Rajasekhar Reddy of the Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the management of the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation not to finalise the tenders invited for installation of solar photovoltaic power panels to provide LED lights at various bus stops in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states, if it has not finalised yet.
The judge was dealing with a petition by the Hyperion Green Energy India Private Limited seeking to declare the action of the RTC to withdraw the ongoing project for providing solar energy at 105 bus stops as arbitrary, illegal and unconstitutional.
Sivaraju Srinivas, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that the RTC entered into an agreement for providing solar energy and it was cancelled in the midway and his client was represented to return of Rs 7 crore which is owed by the RTC to his client for executing the project.
Mr Srinivas alleged that the decision was taken at the behest of its former vice-chairman and managing director A.K. Khan.
He urged the court to declare the action of the RTC in inviting fresh tenders for the project as illegal.
While directing the RTC to consider the representation of the petitioner for refund of money, the judge directed the RTC not to finalise the tenders.
