New York: An ailing child with an inoperable tumour turned six on Friday, and received over 1,00,000 birthday cards, including one from Justin Beiber.
He also got to meet the New England Patriots, a local American football team.
Danny Nickerson was diagnosed with a tumour called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glimoma in October last.
Doctors usually give patients an 18-month timeframe.
His mother narrated the story to a local newspaper in their hometown Foxboro, about 45 km south of Boston.
She also mentioned that Danny likes getting cards.
The story, and the hashtag #CardsForDanny went viral. WHDH reported that on Friday, tens of thousands of greeting cards landed up at the local post office.
It took several hours and many trucks to bring all of the cards home where Danny will go through them. One of the cards was from Justin Beiber, who also Instagrammed the picture.
