Muslim community in Kerala to celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr on Tuesday

Final decision on declaring holiday for government offices will be taken on Monday

Kozhikode: The Muslim community in Kerala will celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr on Tuesday as the Shawwal new moon was not spotted on Sunday. A press release from the Samastha Kerala Jemiiyyathul Ulama here said that Panakad Sayyid Hyderali Shihab Thangal, Kozhikode Kazi, Sayyid Mohammed Koya Thangal, Kanhangad Kazi, Sayyid Jiffri Muthukoya Thangal, Kasargod Kazi, K. Alikutty Musliar and Samastha Kerala Jemuiyyathul Ulama general secretary Cherussery Sainudheen Musliar had said that the devotees would complete the 30 days of Ramzan on Monday and celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr on Tuesday.

According to chief minister Oommen Chandy’s office, a final decision on declaring a holiday for government offices on Tuesday will be taken only on Monday.
