Denotification: BJP to stall House today
LoP in Assembly, Jagadish Shettar told DC: “We will not budge till a CBI probe is ordered.”
Bengaluru: With the legislature session scheduled to end by Wednesday, the impasse over denotification of land in Arkavathy layout has come in handy for the opposition BJP to stall the state government’s move to get crucial government bills passed.
While the BJP is demanding a CBI probe into the denotification ‘scam,’ the ruling Congress is determined to get bills concerning the finance and other departments passed even if it has to rely on a ‘Guillotine motion’. This motion can be used to restrict the time set aside for a debate, during the passage of a bill.
Leader of opposition in the Assembly, Jagadish Shettar told Deccan Chronicle: “We will not budge till a CBI probe is ordered.”
