Surprise checks reveal Rs 1.48 lakh from five department counters

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids on Sunday across Andhra Pradesh at integrated inter-state checkposts and found lakhs of rupees in unaccounted cash.
Raids were conducted at Srikakulam, Anantapur and Nellore, Chittoor bordering Odisha, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
The ACB took private persons at the checkposts into custody.
Raids at Purusottapuram inter-state border checkpost near Itchapuram in Srikakulam yielded Rs 1.48 lakh from the five department counters.
While complaints about corruption being rampant at checkposts are pouring in fast, the raids by ACB has also increased of late.
