When your wife is also your boss
Mumbai: A recent Airtel ad titled ‘Boss’ tried to break the conventional way woman is portrayed yet lands on the same plane when it comes to cooking.
The ad starts with a brief conversation where a female boss orders two male colleagues to get an assignment done, one of the men protests saying its not possible. The boss showing empathy asked them to manage anyhow. Later in the evening only one man is seen working over time. He receives a call from his wife. Not that hard to guess, the boss is the wife.
This somehow ticked off the twitteratis as the boss came back home and had to cook for dear hubby, stereotyping again, are we?
Here is how Twitter reacted to the ad:
This airtel ad sends the wrong message. A double income, no kids couple can't afford a cook?! Demoralising for management students!

only one question on the #airtel ad - what kind of a company allows husband & wife to work together, in a direct reporting relationship..

I would have given the Airtel ad 10/10 if only the wife had prepared Sandwiches for the husband.

I seem to be the only one not offended by the airtel "wife"ad .. Spouse as boss is complicated. What If the genders were reversed in ad?

Just saw that Airtel ad and I'm appalled at the message it sends; for starters, 3G video calling is NEVER that smooth and hi-def.
