Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn want 'Kick' to be successful
Mumbai: After the stupendous success of Salman Khan’s Kick, it is now Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, who’re focusing on chalking out the perfect publicity plan for their respective films — Entertainment and Singham 2. Both Akshay and Ajay are targeting collections similar to Kick for their movies.
“Akshay’s commercial viability as well as Ajay’s box office position have remained rock steady. With the success of films like Chennai Express and Kick, the competition to emulate them is getting bigger. Aggressive promotion is now the name of the game and it’s very important that A-list actors meet the mark,” a trade analyst points out.
The figures for Kick have also put pressures on big films like Happy New Year and P.K. to live up to the mark.
We hear that Akshay and Ajay will “lie low” for a week before kickstarting the promotions for their films in earnest. With the ongoing buzz of Kick, they feel it’s best to wait till the Salman euphoria subsides. “Yes, the city tours and other publicity for the films have been held back for a week,” a trade source said.
Both Akshay and Ajay have a sharp business acumen — they are only too aware of what the repercussion will be if their films’ business clashes with that of Kick.
