Telangana state staff unhappy with division work officials
Hyderabad: Telangana state employees are unhappy with all the officials associated with bifurcation working for the AP government.
“The committee set up to monitor distribution of employees has P.V. Ramesh as member-secretary, who is working as principal secretary in the AP government. Similarly, the office to monitor the implementation of the AP Reorganisation Act was also set up on the AP secretariat premises. In this way, the entire distribution of employees is handled by AP officials. How can we expect TS employees to get justice? The partisan attitude was reflected in the form of guidelines issued by the Kamalnathan Committee. We want independent offices and officials to monitor the process or give representation to TS officials in the existing committee,” said Telangana employees leader V. Srinivas Goud.
For instance, at the Secretariat alone, nearly 100 Seemandhra employees in the higher cadre are working for the Telangana government and employees fear that if options are given they would naturally opt for TS to stay in Hyderabad.
“Several TS employees with seniority in Telangana are awaiting promotions to higher cadre but they are denied as those positions are occupied by Seemandhra employees. If promotions are given, Telangana employees can move to higher cadre and new vacancies at lower level will arise, giving opportunity for fresh graduates of Telangana to secure government jobs. If options are given, there will be no change in posts matrix and everyone from Seemandhra will continue to work as it is,” said Telangana Gazetted Officers Association leader A. Padma Chary.
Another major bone of contention is taking schooling from Class IV to X to determine the nativity of employees.
“Many Seemandhra employees obtained fake certificates with regard to schooling in Telangana. Those schools no longer exist and there are no proper records available with the government to verify whether they actually did schooling or not in those schools. There are complaints against some schools of issuing fake certificates with older dates. We demand that the Kamalnathan Committee to thoroughly inquire into these certificates besides deciding their nativity. If the place of birth is taken into account, this problem can be resolved,” said TNGOs Association president G. Devi Prasad.
