Hyderabad: Telangana state IT and panchayat minister K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday said the Telangana government would focus on bridging the skill gap among students to make them industry ready.
Mr Rama Rao was speaking at an event held to launch the Technology Entrepreneurship Programme, offered by Indian School of Business in association with Institute of Electronic Governance.
The two-year programme would help students create and launch new business ventures — in the technology space — through online courses and in-lab training, design workshops as well. There are 10 colleges from Telangana and five from AP participating in it.
“Our initiatives like T-Hub, an incubator for 1,000 start-ups and TASK ( Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge) are directed towards helping such students who have the education but are not industry ready or want to set up their own ventures,” said Mr Rama Rao.
The first phase of T-hub would be ready by the end of the year and will be spread over 80,000 square feet at the IIIT campus in Hyderabad.
TEP will be offered to III and IV year students and ISB faculty would also play a role in training the faculty of participating engineering colleges.
