Telangana government to open Facebook, Twitter for state schemes
Hyderabad: The TRS government will soon be seen on popular social media Facebook and Twitter.
The sources in the Telangana State government said that plans are afoot to open Facebook and Twitter accounts to promote the government’s welfare programmes and policies, besides answering queries from people on various issues.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has already given a green signal for making Hyderabad a wifi city and a big push to software and hardware industry besides other sector.
“It’s a fact that the government will open Facebook and Twitter accounts soon. A team is working in this regard. It will be opened soon to promote the government’s welfare programmes and policies,” a senior official told this newspaper.
Facebook has become one of the most popular social media network with lakhs of people of all ages using it. Tech savvy minister for IT and panchayat raj K.T. Rama Rao is already connected to thousands of people through Facebook and Twitter.
Mr Rama Rao is also giving an impetus to the IT sector with regular interaction with representatives of IT companies and trying to solve their problems, while focussing on expansion of IT software and hardware industry.
