Telangana CM KCR: System need to be revamped
Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the TRS election promise of providing “KG-to-PG free education” will be implemented from next academic year.
“In developed countries, there is a common schooling system. Even the children of US President will study in community schools run by the government along with other students. But here the social and economic status decide their schooling. Wealthy parents admit children in international schools and corporate schools. Poor students have to study in government schools. This inequality is being created in their minds right from the tender age. This is not good for the society or country. There is a need to bring a common schooling system where there should not be any difference between children from have’s or have not’s. Quality education has to be provided to all for free,” said Mr Rao.
The Chief Minister felt that the existing education system was ‘faulty’ and needs to be totally revamped right from the grass-root level.
“I will convene a meeting with all the stakeholders soon over revamping the education system in Telangana. I request all to give better suggestions on how to overhaul the system to ensure equal opportunities for all irrespective of their social or financial status,” Mr Rao said.
