PIL against High Security Registration Plates
Hyderabad: An advocate from the city, Mr Chintan Singh, has moved the Hyderabad High Court asking the court to direct the Telangana State (TS) and Andhra Pradesh governments to cancel the High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) project implementation agreement dated February 8, 2013.
The petitioner submitted that that the Apex Court has prohibited sub-contracting of the manufacturing and affixation of HSRPs in the interest of security of the citizens and the sanctity of the HSRP scheme.
Despite directions from the Apex Court, the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh has called for tenders and awarded the contract for implementation of HSRP project to a consortium comprising Utsav Safety Systems Private Limited and Link Point Infrastructure Private Limited by entering into an agreement in February 2013. Both the companies formed a cartel along with another company Rosmerta Technologies Limited.
