Andhra Pradesh: Narrow escape for Spicejet passengers after bird hit
Rajahmundry: Passengers of SpiceJet aircraft had a miraculous escape when it suffered a bird hit while landing at Rajahmundry airport at about 12 noon on Saturday. The aircraft carrying nearly 56 passengers was supposed to land when one of its engines was hit by a bird. The aircraft landed safely and there was no emergency landing.
SpiceJet authorities cancelled tickets of passengers who were bound to Hyderabad and refunded them fully while making alternate arrangements for those who wanted to reach Hyderabad.
Some of the passengers were sent to Visakhapatnam by road to catch a scheduled flight to Hyderabad. The stranded aircraft is expected to resume its operation on Sunday as the Spice Jet authorities are sending engineers from Hyderabad to Rajahmundry to carry out repair works.
