A fake gold case of Rudhramadevi
Ever since jewellery from the sets of Rudhramadevi went missing there have been all kinds of theories making the rounds. It has already been established that the jewellery being used in the movie was expensive, worth Rs 5 crore to be exact. The producers have obviously left no wallet unturned in making sure the period movie fit the bill.
But once the jewellery was reported stolen, the city rumour mills went into overtime. Several reports claimed the gold was fake and that the team had not lost any property. “The makers had actually made gold ornaments for the female lead. But they later decided to put aside the real gold and used the duplicate instead. At the time of the complaint, actually they lost the duplicates,” a source attached to the unit had claimed.
But now, Hyderabad authorities are confirming that there's gold missing indeed. Inspector of Police, Gachibowli, J. Ramesh Kumar, has revealed that there’s a boxful of real gold “missing”.
“We haven’t recovered any gold so it is hard to tell. But, while filing the complaint, the makers of the movie did mention that they lost two boxes of jewellery. While one box contained gold, the other had a box full of silver jewellery coated in gold.”
