Muslims offer Jummat-ul-Vida prayers

Scholars delivered speeches about teachings of Quran like peace, kindness and unity

Hyderabad: The Jummat-ul-Vida (last Friday of Ramzan) prayers were held here on Friday. The prayers started with Imam Rizwan Qureshi leading the prayers. Jummat-ul-Vida is considered an auspicious day in the holy month of Ramzan.

After the prayers MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi said, “Everyone should strive to maintain unity and do social service.” He said that conflicts between Israel and Palestine were due to superpower US, and asked everyone to pray for justice.

Other scholars delivered speeches about the teachings of Quran like peace, kindness and unity.

Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain, Charminar MLA Pasha Quadri and Malakpet MLA Ahmed Balala, and MLAs of Karwan and Yakutpura were present at the venue, and greeted everyone after the prayers.

Thousands of Muslims clad in their traditional attire and caps, gathered in and around the historic Makkah Masjid near Charminar and said prayers.

Carpets were laid on all the roads and all bylanes leading to the mosque were full of devotees. between 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm.

Barricades were also put on the road from Madina building to Charminar bus stand and traffic was diverted to either sides of the main road to Charminar.
