Bishop Cottons Boys' School makes photo ID cards mandatory
Bengaluru: To provide foolproof security to students, Bishop Cottons Boys’ School has made photo ID cards mandatory for those who come to collect the children studying between classes LKG and STD VII.
School Principal John K. Zachariah has stated in a circular: “Keeping with our desire to improve the safety of our children we have decided to issue customised ID cards to parents/ guardians/ authorised escorts to enable them to collect their children after school hours.
Those who come to collect their children must show their ID cards to the security guard beside class teacher.”
A few Vibgyor parents continued to protest against the school, alleging that the school had misled them.
A parent told Deccan Chronicle that even after statewide protests, the school has not initiated any action against the school principal for negligence and destroying evidence.
“The Department of Public Instruction and the police have not taken any action against the principal and the woman teacher who sent the six-year-old child victim for detention. They are trying to shut us up. We want to approach the higher-ups,” he said.
