Just 6 days to go for tax returns
Hyderabad: Tax payers, whose annual income is below Rs 5 lakh, can file their income returns or pay taxes at the Aayakar Bhavan at Basheerbagh. The income-tax department has made special arrangements to facilitate filing of tax returns till the last date of July 31.
The last date for filing of returns is July 31 for salaried individuals and companies, who are not required to audit their accounts. Though the income-tax department had extended the deadline beyond July 31 in 2013, experts suggest tax payers against missing the last date in hope of a further extension by the income-tax department.
The offices at the Aayakar Bhavan remain open all days till July 31, except July 29. The offline facility in addition to the online filing option is available only to those with less than Rs 5 lakh income.
People having more than Rs 5 lakh income a year, however, must invariably use efiling option. Tax payers can just walk with their PAN card and avail the facility. These counters are meant only for tax payers whose annual income is Rs 5 lakh or less.
The due date for all the audit and corporate tax payers, whose tax is deducted at source (TDS), is September 30. Help desk counters, counters for TRPs verification, PAN verification and others will be facilitated separately.
“If any mistakes are made in the returns, those will also be corrected. TRPs related issued will also be look after,” said an IT official.
