Commonwealth Games 2014: Indian shuttlers crush Uganda 5-0 in the second group game
Glasgow: Indian shuttlers continued their solid form in the Commonwealth Games 2014 as they outplayed Uganda 5-0 following their rout of Ghana in the first match by the same margin.
P.V. Sindhu teamed up with R.M.V Gurusaidutt to crush Wilson Tukire and Daisy Nakalyango 21-4, 21-8. Srikanth Kidambi, in the men's singles tie defeated Edwin Ekiring 21-10, 21-8.
P.C. Thulasi increased India’s lead to 3-0 when she won against Margaret Nankabirwa 21-3, 21-1 in the women's singles.
The duo of Akshay Dewalkar and Pranav Chopra continued India’s domination as they took just 20 minutes to send Wilson Tukire and Edwin Ekiring 21-6, 21-8 packing.
India’s women’s pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa completed India’s 5-0 win by beating Margaret Nankabirwa and Daisy Nakalyango 21-4, 21-8.
