Bengaluru rape: Vibgyor School to reopen on Monday
Bengaluru: Vibgyor High, the school which was shut down for several days as parents protested against the rape of a six-year-old there, will re-open on Monday, following a meeting between the school management, parents and officials from the Department of Public Instruction.
Speaking to this newspaper, Mr. S.M. Ramesh, BEO, Bengaluru-South IV, said the decision was taken following assurances from the school management that all the demands of the protesting parents would be met soon.
There were tense moments at the meeting as the protesting parents and school officials traded charges. The school management assured the parents that they would install more CCTVs.
“Presently there are 24 CCTV cameras, we will install more soon. All the demands of the parents will be met in a time-bound manner”.
No let up in probe: Goyal
Rubbishing the media speculations on letting off the second accused in the six-year-old sexual assault case which took place on July 2, DCP (Crime) Abhishek Goyal said that “It is a complex case. Developments are bound to happen in this case and based on that we are visiting and re-visiting the school to gather concrete information.”
He further said the child was traumatized when the complaint was registered therefore the details might not be accurately correct. However, a dedicated team is working relentlessly.
