Leaked: More images and specs of the Sony Xperia Z3
The race to build the most powerful handset is beginning a smartphone cold war between the brands. Most smartphone manufacturers are already on the presently most-powerful hardware, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, some prefer to differ by offering a better display (LG G3 with the 4K display), some with a better camera sensor, some with dual cameras, and others with various other features.
Around two weeks ago, the news about Sony working on the next Xperias, the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Compact with leaked images were doing its rounds. This time, the famous leakster @evleaks has revealed that the Sony Z3 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with 2.4GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, Adreno 330 GPU and 16GB storage. The Z3 will also be equipped with a full HD 5.15-inch IPS LCD Triluminous display with Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 2, a 20.7MP rear camera and a 2.1MP front camera. The operating system would be Android KitKat v4.4.4. Shown in the image below are the two phones—Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.
However, the specifications of the Xperia Z3 are almost similar to that of the previous flagship model, the Xperia Z2. We wonder why would Sony want to bring out an identical model, which already exists in the market and with a cheaper price tag?
The possibility could be updated software to increase efficiency of the hardware and the camera and resolve battery life and heating issues. However, it makes no sense for Sony to release the same hardware instead of simply updating the software for the older product. Anyways, since this is just a leaked information and could be a rumour, we have to just wait till more information surfaces.
