Andhra Pradesh asks Centre to settle fee issue
Hyderabad: An all-party delegation from AP on Wednesday met Union home minister Rajnath Singh and parliamentary affairs minister M. Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi to seek Central intervention into the fee reimbursement stalemate.
They also urged the Union ministers to direct Telangana to start Eamcet counselling immediately.
After the meeting, minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said the Union home minister had assured them that he would look into the issue and he would also ask his department officials to examine the issue and take it up with the Telangana government.
“It has been nearly 40 days since the Eamcet results were announced, but counselling is yet to begin. Students are migrating to other states due to the delay in start of academic session in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. We informed the Centre that despite several correspondences from our side to Telangana, there has been no response,” said Mr Rao. He said Union HRD minister Smriti Irani had assured them to look into the legal aspects of the issue.
Apart from AP ministers Ganta Srinivas Rao, Kamineni Srinivas and Ravela Kishore Babu , the all-party delegation comprised MPs from the TD, the YSRC and the BJP.
