Mumbai: There is little surprise that the limelight has been on one of the country’s power couples, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, ever since they were first spotted together.
One is Bollywood’s leading lady, and the other a cricket star. While the interest in their relationship is understandable, the two have also done their bit to fuel it, some would say. Virat’s presence in Spain during the shoot of Anushka’s next Dil Dhadakne Do and the latter’s visit to England during the recently concluded match has only further peaked people’s interest in their love story.
The two are making every effort to spend time with each other, something that hasn’t gone down too well with the cricket fraternity who believe that Virat was distracted during the match thanks to his lady love’s presence. Jokes about Virat’s dipping performance thanks to Anushka, have gone viral too.
Understandably, Anushka is upset about the allegations. “As a couple, it’s their choice how they want to spend time with each other. Did Virat’s presence affect the shooting schedule of DDD in Spain? Did he interfere in her work? It’s unfair to blame Anushka for the scores and the performance of the Indian cricket team,” say sources close to the actress.
While the film industry thrives on gossip and glamour, cricket is a sensitive issue for majority of the Indians. And unfortunately for Anushka, she’s under the scanner twice over.
