Gulf job offers to rise for Indians

There could be 10-15 per cent more jobs in the offing, says MD of Monster India

Chennai: There may be more jobs in the offing in the Gulf region for Indians in the coming years. With the governments reviving their business and infrastructure initiatives, the Gulf job market looks lucrative for Indians for the next two years.

“There could be 10-15 per cent more jobs in the offing across a host of sectors for people from South East Asian countries in the next two years,” said Sanjay Modi, MD of Monster India and Middle East.

Job opportunities seems galore in sector such as oil and gas, hospitality, construction and engineering, retail and education in the coming days for folks from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh, he said.

Global hiring portal Monster tracks the recruitment trends across various countries with its indices of employment index and hiring sentiments every month.

For now, hiring sentiments are extremely positive in the Gulf region, especially in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Sanjay Modi told this correspondent.

Most Gulf nations, dominated by government-related investment in construction, infrastructure and other key sectors, have been on an overdrive for nationalization programmes.

“This has fuelled the demand for service professionals to train the locals,” the Monster Gulf chief said.
