Geo-tagging technology to prevent frauds
Hyderabad: The Telangana Housing Corporation, which has been entrusted with executing the government’s two-bed room housing scheme, is using modern technology to prevent frauds.
The corporation is using a geo-tagging system that will prevent multiple bills on the same house.
It is also considering to link the Aadhaar card with the scheme which will curb an individual from availing multiple houses in different regions of the state. The tagging system will give details of beneficiaries, with a photo and the longitudinal and latitude coordinates of the house.
A pilot project has already been completed in Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar and Adilabad, covering 2 lakh houses.
The State Housing Corporation managing director, B. Venkatesham, said, “With the geo-tagging system, and linkage with Aadhaar cards, irregularities like multiple bills for the same house and availing several houses by one person in different parts of the state can be prevented, ”
He added, “Our focus is on using maximum technology to reduce manual intervention as far as possible and maintain transparency,”
The geo-mapping system on the Telangana Housing Corporation portal provides the status of the house allotted to the beneficiaries and also their details .
