Road Transport Corporation bus crashes into house, killing one
Hyderabad: An RTC Garuda bus rammed into a house in Chinnakoduru mandal in Medak district on Sunday killing the house owner on the spot. The bus, which was going to Karimnagar with passengers from Hyderabad, broke the house’s wall and roof, and trapped the victim, M. Rajesh, 50, under the debris.
The bus driver, who sustained injuries, told the police that he lost control while he turned the vehicle to the right to avoid a biker who came from the opposite direction. The victim’s wife and two children, who were inside the house, escaped unhurt.
“Rajesh, his wife and children were inside the house. The driver took a turn to the extreme right to avoid a bike. The bus went off the road and rammed into the small house located on the roadside. The wall and parts of the roof collapsed on the victim, who got trapped under the debris. He died on the spot,” said Siddipet circle inspector V. Prasanna Kumar.
The bus driver was trapped inside the bus and his leg was seriously injured. All passengers escaped unhurt.
The police booked a case against the bus driver for causing death by negligence.
