Hyderabad: A man committed suicide at his house in Laxminagar in Marredpally on Sunday after a dowry harassment case was registered against him Sub inspector K. Ranga Reddy, the investigating officer, said the victim Manchikanti Bhavani Prasad, 35, a trader, had frequent disputes with his wife over petty issues. Recently, she left house, and lodged a dowry harassment case against him. The KPHB police registered a case.
Depressed and humiliated, Bhavani Prasad hanged himself to death at his house in the early hours of Sunday. The cops reached the spot after being alerted and examined the scene.
Based on a complaint lodged by Prasad’s family, a case under Section 306 (Abetment to suicide) was registered against his wife. Prasad’s body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital, and was later handed over to his family after postmortem.
