App that allows singles to pick mates based on their voice
London: A new smartphone app for single sallows them to choose their dates by using their voice rather than photos. The new app, called Revealr, uses a 20-second clip of a person's voice alongside pixelated photos to blur their looks. Then users are matched to a list of potential nearby dates, showing the person's name, age, location and their own short vocal introduction. Once a mutual match is made, both profiles - along with their photos - are revealed and users are free to hear more of the voices they have picked, 'mirror.co.uk' reported. The app is the brainchild of Guy Harrington, 27, and Paul Laight, 32 in Fulham, west London and has so far managed to collect 500,000 pounds worth of funding. "Revealr came about from our frustration of the superficiality of the current dating apps available," Harrington said. "Much like blind dating changed the way people met in the 1990s, we want to do our best to allow people's personality to shine through," he added.
