Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Chief Secretarys to meet on July 23
Hyderabad: The Centre has summoned chief secretaries of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to New Delhi on July 23 to resolve the issue of distribution of employees between the states. Officials from Department of Personnel and Training will also participate in the meeting.
The division of staff has not been completed even after setting up the Kamalanathan Committee a few months ago. Over 53,000 employees are awaiting their final allotment to both the States even after the bifurcation of state more than a one-and-a-half month ago.
Employees, irrespective of their nativity, are currently allotted to both States on a provisional basis after State bifurcation on June 2 to enable both the governments to function normally.
However, the temporary allotment has created problems with employees engaging in confrontation with fellow officials and colleagues on various issues in the Secretariat and other head offices in Hyderabad.
The administration has been adversely affected and pending files have been mounting day by day with even IAS officials not in a position to clear them as their allotment too has not been finalized yet.
Hence, the Centre has stepped in to resolve the issue by convening a meeting with Kamalanathan Committee, CSs of both states and officials from the Finance departments on July 23.
