Chennai: Purampokku, which has Arya, Vijay Sethupathi and Shaam in the lead and had its long shooting schedules at Kulu Manali, has now shifted base to Chennai.
Directed by award winner Jananathan, a huge set, resembling a prison has been erected at the Binny Mills with art director Selvakumar helming the affair.
The portions involving Arya and Shaam are being canned now with Vijay Sethupathy and Karthika Nair joining the team next week.
Though the director has kept everything about the film under wraps, a close source reveals that while Arya plays a financial analyst, Sethupathi is a railway kalasi and Shaam is a police officer.
Reportedly, Arya lands in jail and portions involving him as a convict are shot on the mammoth set.
About 600 junior artistes take part in the shoot every day in the film, which is being produced by UTV Motion Pictures.
