Mumbai: In 2008, Priyanka Chopra’s first look from Sudhir Mishra’s film, which was scheduled to be a remake of Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam, was released. Unfortunately, the film was shelved after it ran into some financial trouble.
Now we hear that five years later Sudhir and company have planned to restart their ambitious project. “Now the film has a new name — Aur Devdas.
It will also have a fresh new star cast featuring Rahul Bhatt, Richa Chadda and Vipin Sharma in lead roles,” say sources close to the film. And Priyanka will no more be a part of the film.
Although the film is a mix of many films like Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam, Devdas and even has shades of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, it is set in contemporary times. The film goes on the floors a few months from now.
