High commission had no clue of Vaidik-Saeed meet, says centre
Mr Vaidik's meeting with Saeed has kicked up a political storm in the Capital
NEW DELHI: The government informed the Lok Sabha on Thursday that the Indian high commission in Islamabad had no information about the meeting of journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik with JuD chief Hafiz Saeed.
The information was provided by Union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj to the House during Zero Hour after repeated insistence by the Congress benches led by their leader in the House, Mallikarjun Kharge, and the RJD. They even trooped into the well of the House, shouting slogans like Vaidik ko mat bachao, Hafiz ka sacha batao.
It is learnt that the NIA alongwith the IB may seek put forth some queries to Mr Vaidik whose meeting with Saeed has kicked up a political storm in the Capital.
