Hyderabad health officials deny death due to dengue fever

Rashes appeared on deceased’s skin & vicinity of occurance has major sanitation issues
Hyderabad: The district medical and health officer has denied that the recent death of a patient in LB Nagar area was due to dengue fever. The authorities claimed that death was due to bleeding and not dengue.
The test conducted to confirm dengue by the private hospital was not re-confirmed by the Indian Institute of Preventive Medicine and hence its veracity is doubtful, claim health officers.
There were rashes on the deceased’s skin and the vicinity where it occurred has major sanitation issues.
Dr B. Nirmala, district medical and health officer of Hyderabad, said, “The death was not due to dengue. It is clearly told to all private hospitals that they must re-confirm the test with IPM. But as the rains have started, we are issuing precautionary measures to people to take care.”
People feel that the fogging operations of GHMC began too late. Garbage clearance also taking too long. With this, the fear of dengue mosquito breeding can’t be ruled out.
