Civic body needs more road rollers

GHMC has sanctioned Rs 69.14 crore worth works in 47 wards under corporators’ Budget

Hyderabad: Since the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) does not possess adequate number of road rollers, patch-work been carried out on city roads has been left as it is without proper rolling.

The GHMC commissioner, Somesh Kumar, has put forth a proposal to purchase more rollers for the corporation.

T. Anjaneyulu, chief engineer, GHMC, said, “Desilting packages worth Rs 21.21 crore have been completed. Special teams have been formed for verification of desilting works and 12 corporators have submitted satisfactory letters for such works.”

The GHMC has sanctioned Rs 69.14 crore worth works in 47 wards under corporators’ Budget to deal with issues like water logging in low-lying areas, building collapses, road patches and cases of trees falling.
