AP Finance minister asks all departments not to seek excess budget
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Tuesday asked the heads of all the departments not to seek “excess budget” and that the proposals should be confined to budget that is actually needed.
The state government has started the process of preparing Budget for 2014-15 that will be presented in the Assembly in August.
The finance minister conducted meeting with officials of agriculture, education, medical and health departments and its ministers and sought their proposals as per requirement.
Keeping in view the financial position of the state, officials were told not to seek excess allotment.
However, the minister made it clear that agriculture was a priority sector for TD government and it would be liberal in making allocations to agriculture and its allied sectors.
