Hyderabad: Attention diversion gang struck yet again at the KPHB Colony on Tuesday morning, and fled with Rs 8 lakh from a businessman.

The incident took place when the victim, Vishnuvardhan Reddy, managing partner of Maruti Mahalakshmi Transport Limited was on his way to the office after withdrawing money from a bank.

In his complaint to the KPHB police, he stated that two people stole the money by diverting his attention. “He had visited IDBI Bank and had withdrawn Rs 8 lakh. When he got into his car one person knocked on the window and said that some money from the bag had fallen on the road. When he got down another person snatched the bag from the car.”

KPHB police inspector V. Sreekanth Goud said adding that an investigation is on.
