New Delhi: Naxalites in India are getting support from Maoist fringe groups in Europe, the government told Parliament.
Outfits in Germany, France, Holland and Italy were giving support to Naxals, and the clandestine supply of foreign funds could not be ruled out, minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju said.
The matter had been taken up diplomatically with these countries, he added. Top Philippines Communist cadres had also trained CPI (Maoist) cadres in
2005-11, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said.
